A dark, funny and frightening novel about a 15-year old girl who experiences dreadful trauma and is then magically transported to a safe haven where she rears her two children amongst Magicked men and wild bears (mostly cuddly - sometimes a bit too much so). But the real world cannot be shut out forever. Wonderful writing.
