Where'd You Go, Bernadette, Maria Semple (Orion Books) FICTION

The literary snob bit of me really, really did not want to like this book. The first chapter was a "giveaway" in the weekend newspaper, the cover is sort of middle-of-the-road looking, it was, you know, rather "popular" for my liking. But I was hooked in from the first page. It's a great story, cleverly told. Warning - anyone who objected to the Powerpoint presentation in Jennifer Egan's Goon Squad will probably not much like this.
