10th November - Spells: 21st Century Occult Poetry with Ignota Books

Join us on Saturday 10th November for an evening with Ignota Books. Their new collection Spells brings together thirty-six contemporary voices exploring the territory where justice, selfhood and the imagination meet the transformative power of the occult. These poems unmake the world around them, so that it might be remade anew.

We will have literary and culinary incantations from Amy Key, Jane Yeh, Will Harris, Rebecca May Johnson and publisher Sarah Shin.

Ignota Books is an experiment in the techniques of awakening.

Founded in the last days of 2017 in the Peruvian mountains, Ignota publishes at the intersection of technology, myth-making and magic. Deriving our name from Hildegard of Bingen’s mystical Lingua Ignota, we seek to develop a language that makes possible the re-imagining and re-enchantment of the world around us.

Tickets cost £5 and include a glass of wine and £4 off purchases made on the night.
